When it comes to getting tasks done, most of us work best in the morning.  That’s because we get  an energy drop midday.  But by getting our bodies moving we can get an energy boost, says Family Circle magazine.  A brisk 10 minute walk at lunch, even standing while talking on the phone, helps increase energy. So does good posture, when we sit tall our chest opens and we take in 30% more oxygen.

And listening to up-tempo music helps when we’re sluggish.  But nix the multi-tasking, that exhausts our brain. Then there are the little things like popping a mint candy or stick of gum. Peppermint is proven to help keep us alert.  By the way, if you need a snack, go for carbs like pretzels or popcorn – it’ll boost the feel-good hormone, serotonin. Finally, keep a plant at your desk – a little nature keeps the creative juices flowing.
