Are you exhausted at your job? Likely it has something to do with the fact that you’re not getting a good night’s sleep…and I do mean good. Recent research now points to the fact that when it comes to sleep, a good solid 6 hours does more good, than a fragmented 8 hours of sleep. The researchers studied the best subjects around for fragmented sleep – new moms.
They discovered that new moms generally get plenty of shut eye, it’s just that those middle of the night feedings break up 90 minute sleep cycles. Same holds true for people with insomnia. Without a full sleep cycle you can’t feel fully rested. If that’s the case with you, try finding time for a 20 minute nap – it’ll restore your brain power says Psychology Today. Other suggestions? Don’t drink coffee after 2pm and avoid those nightcaps – they just make sleep, and getting up for work the next day that much harder.
